Bionicle Chronicles-Tale of The Toa (Interesting Event)

Bionicle Chronicles-Tale of The Toa (Interesting  Event)

For this month's book review, I've chosen this book-Bionicle Chronicles: Tale of The Toa written by Cathy Hapka. The story starts off with the Great Spirit or known as Mata Nui, blessed the his people, the Matoran with 3 virtues: unity, duty and destiny, so that they may live in peace in their island home Mata Nui which was named after the Great Spirit himself. But the peace and joy was not to last. The Great Spirit's brother, Makuta, was jealous of these honours and betrayed him, casting a spell that causes Mata Nui to fall into deep slumber and dominated the land. Still all hopes was not lost. Legends told of six mighty heroes, the Toa would arrive to save Mata Nui from the evil Makuta.

Throughout the story, I've found one especially interesting event that I would like to talk about. This event illustrates the part where all six Toa, went to Kini-Nui after they have retrieved all the Great Kanohi Masks of Power to craft the Golden Mask in order to gain power to defeat Makuta. Just as they retrieved all their Golden Masks, a chasm in the ground opened, and soon they are forced to fight Makuta's strong underlings together.

They encountered the most dangerous Rahi, two Manas, crab-like creatures that were both smart and strong. The Toa were overconfident after they retrieved the Golden Mask as it boosts their power, and eventually they are struggling to overpower two Manas. So, in order to defeat them, the Toa unite and combine their powers, becoming two Toa Kaita, Akamai and Wairuha, which was the fusion of 3 Toa into one single being, making them much more stornger than before. With these enourmous power, they managed to defeat the Manas and splitted back into their own forms, only to face more enemies.

This time, they were encountered by the Shadow Toa versoins of themselves created by Makuta, and they were having a difficult stand off as the Shadow Toa has equal strength as the real ones. The fight lasted for quite some time and seemingly their enemies were almost invulnerable, the Toa was losing hope bit by bit and almmost got defeated. Only then the Toa realized they must work as a team to defeat the enemies in front of them, and they switch up their opponents and fight each others' dark counterpart. In the end, the doppelgangers were defeated, and the Toa continued their journey to seek for Makuta so that they will defeat him to bring back the peace the world once has.

In a nutshell, this story was quite interesting overall as the unique LEGO characters adventured throughout the world facing difficulties and solving them together as one team. Especially that event, it shows that everyone should always work together and unite as one instead of trying to take on a situation alone because everyone exist in this world to help each other out.
