The Secret Island - Pavitran

Today I’m going to write about the book ‘The Secret Island’ by Enid Blyton. The story was about Mike and Nora. Their parents, Captain and Mrs. Arnold, built a new airplane and flew off to Australia in it. But somewhere along the way they vanished and nothing more was heard from them. Ever since then, the children have been living with their Aunt Harriet and Uncle Henry, who are really quite strict and horrid. So they and their friend Jack who lived in a nearby farm decided to leave to a nearby abandoned island. The place turns out to be a secret island on a very large lake. The lake is surrounded by woods, and apparently nobody even knows the island is there, so it remains unexplored by anyone.

The most interesting part of the story is how they prepared to run away from their homes to get to the secret island. Mike and Nora decided to steal all the equipment and food from their uncle’s house. They decided to leave their house on midnight. Jack on the other hand had no one else with him as he lives alone after his granddad left somewhere.  He decided to bring a cow and two chickens with him! They later then met up at the lake and used Jacks boat to get to the other side. Jack had to make a few trips as he needed to bring along the farm animals as well!
