The One Left Behind

I have read the novel ‘ The One Left Behind ’, written by Willo Davis Roberts. It was about an 11-year-old girl, Mandy, had been left alone after her sister died. Everyone of her family members had moved on but she still could not let go. The only one who stayed by her side was her dog, Herry.

The most interesting part I found was Mandy met a boy about 16, Zander, ' kidnapped ' his little brother, Dusty, from being kidnapped by Larry and Kirby to ask for ransom from the former's father. At first, Zander slipped into Mandy's house to get some food for him and his brother. They hid at his great-grandmother's cottage which had been abandoned for a long time. When Zander met Mandy, he told her what had happened and Mandy suggested to call the cops but Zander scared that the cops did not believe him. So, he decided to snatch the old van which belonged to Kirby and drove to somewhere else that both of the kidnappers could not find them. Unfortunately, they were caught on the spot. They were almost killed by Larry and Kirby to keep their mouth shut. Luckily, God was by their side. Clancy, the police, arrested both of them. Zander, Mandy and Dusty were safe. 

This was the part that gave me the passion to keep on reading.
