The Probability Of Miracles by Wendy Wunder

This book is about a seventeen-year old Campbell Cooper or Cam. She grew up at Disney as her dad was a career dancer for the Spirit Of Aloha show at the Polynesian together with Cam’s mother, Alicia and Perry, her little sister . She is suffering from cancer along with her best friend Lily. Both of them met each other in the hospital seven years back when they’re admitted in the same hospital room. Since then, both of them become friends and they made a to-do list about things that they must do before they leave the world.

Cam’s doctor, Dr. Handsome said that she need a miracle but Cam doesn't believe in miracles at all! She knows that one day she’ll eventually die as her cancer is at stage 3 and soon it’s going to be at stage 4. With blue spots at few parts of her body, she has no hope to be cured. One day when Cam comes home early from her morning shift at work, she finds the house entirely packed up. Alicia's yoga friend Tom told her about a mystical town in Maine which is rumored to have healing powers and an unusual number of miracles. Cam, her little sister Perry, her pet canary Tweety, and Alicia are road tripping to Promise, Maine for the summer to get Cam her miracle.

The thing about Promise is that it’s not that easy to find it. You can only see the road to Promise from the drive through at a certain Dunkin Donuts, and it’s really best to order a whoopie pie and some chocolate milk to make sure you’re on the right track. Which sounds pretty ridiculous to Cam, but turns out to be true.

When Cam, Alicia and Perry arrived in Promise, sadly her pet canary Tweety was set free in Hoboken, even Cam has the wonder if the rumors are true. It turns out that the everlasting sunsets, whales leaping in the bay at the same time every night, pink flamingos gathered at the beach during sunset and the perfect weather are true. With the returning of Tweety and a boy named Asher-a gorgeous, 17 year old sweet and funny boy with no parents, lets her adopt Homer the lobster from the local lobster shack, a place where Asher works and let them stay in his house.

At first Cam stayed in her room doing nothing and just live with no hope every single day. It gets worst when her best friend, Lily died and she even tried to kill herself. Then, Asher made her believe in herself and to fill her life with memorable moments. Cam decided to do the things in her list that she and Lily made few years back. Soon, she learn a true friendship, love and family bond. Cam finally learn to believe in true love, in herself and in miracles before she die. Leaving Asher and her family, she has no regrets at all because the life that she used to have is actually a miracle.
